This is the question that keeps so many of us stuck: overreacting to things that are actually safe or explaining away things that genuinely aren't. Both feel like alarm bells. Both feel like "trusting your gut." But they're pointing at completely different things and mixing them up is how we either run from good people or stay too long with the wrong ones.
