Malik Alston & Badriyyah Wazeerud-Din – Short Biography Malik Alston has delighted audiences in the United States and abroad, inviting them into his unique world of sound. He is one of Detroit’s premier music producers, vocalists, performers, improvisationists and DJs. He produces and spins without boundaries, often fusing a multitude of styles to create new innovations in sound. He currently performs original works as a keyboardist and vocalist with his solo project and band, Malik Alston & The Linwood Ensemble. The band has enjoyed well-received appearances at many venues including the Movement Festival, House of Blues (Chicago) as the opening act for Les Nubians, African World Festival, Michigan Central, Allied Media Conference, Jazz Café, Spot Lite, Motor City Wine, Marble Bar, Karl’s, and Lincoln Fact
