Five days over Labor Day weekend: carnival, livestock, a midway, a monster truck show and a demolition derby, in Novi.
The name is older than the venue. Michigan ran a state fair on Woodward at Eight Mile from 1905 until the state cut it in 2009; it was revived privately and has been held at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi since. Admission and rides are priced separately, which is worth knowing before you arrive: $10 gets you in, $42 covers unlimited rides and the shows.
Worth knowing. This is in Novi, not Detroit. The fair has not been on Woodward since 2009.
